Suction Power and Airflow Efficiency
At the core of this chimney is a motor designed to deliver an air flow capacity of 1000 cubic meters per hour. Glen Appliances states that this level of suction is engineered to handle cooking fumes effectively. The unit operates at 160 watts and features three distinct speed settings, allowing users to adjust the ventilation intensity based on the specific requirements of their cooking activity.
Design and Build Quality
The unit features a robust construction weighing 14 kg, with physical dimensions of 42 cm in depth, 60 cm in width, and 52 cm in height. The manufacturer emphasizes the use of rust-proof materials, which is a significant factor for appliances exposed to high humidity and heat in kitchen environments. Its pyramid canopy design is specifically engineered for wall-mounted installation.

Operational Features and Controls
User interaction is handled via a straightforward push-button control panel. This design choice prioritizes ease of use over complex digital interfaces. Furthermore, the chimney includes integrated LED lighting, which is intended to illuminate the cooking surface below. The device is built with noise reduction technology, maintaining an operating noise level of 58 decibels.
Safety and Maintenance
Safety is addressed through the inclusion of a thermal overload protector, which is designed to prevent damage during fluctuations or overheating. The filterless system represents a specific design choice by Glen, intended to simplify the maintenance process for the end user, as there are no traditional baffles to clean or replace frequently.

Potential Drawbacks
While the chimney offers several practical features, users should be aware that it is a ducted or vented unit, which requires external installation pathways. Furthermore, because it utilizes a filterless mechanism rather than a traditional baffle filter system, the efficiency of this specific design may vary depending on the frequency of manual cleaning and the type of oils used in cooking.
Target Audience and Suitability
This appliance is well-suited for homeowners looking for a standard 60cm pyramid-style chimney that prioritizes reliable, basic functionality. It is ideal for individuals who prefer physical push-button controls over touch-sensitive panels and those who want an appliance that is durable, rust-proof, and backed by a comprehensive warranty structure for peace of mind.
